Santa Teresa is a central area district and neighbourhood of the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The narrow winding streets through which the Santa Teresa yellow tramway, "Bondinho Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro", passess, (the only tramway that still operate in the city), are just one more of the many attractions of this district of Rio de Janeiro.
The Bondinho (tram) from Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro, starts downtown of of the city of Rio de Janeiro, passing over the Arcos da Lapa and continues uphill along the slopes of the Santa Teresa neighborhood. The starting point for the tram to Santa Teresa is located at Largo da Carioca station, near the headquarters of Petrobras, in Rua Lelio Gama, Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro.

Church and Convent of Santa Teresa: In the neighborhood of Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro, we find the Church and the Convent of Santa Teresa, responsible for the name of the neighborhood, and both belonging to the Order of Carmelitas.

Largo do Guimarães, Santa Teresa (third stop of the tram): We found the typical bohemian, and gastronomic center of the neighborhood of Santa Teresa: Bar do Mineiro, Bar do Arnaudo (lunch Northeast), Sobrenatural (seafood) and Adega do Pimenta (German). At night this is where the locals gather in Santa Teresa.
Largo das Neves, Santa Teresa: We have the church "Nossa Senhora das Neves", 1860, as well as a series of crowded bars.
Ruins Park, Santa Teresa: was the home of Laurinda Santos Lobo, and one was one of the most lively spots of Rio's cultural life until the 50´s.
Currently the Ruins Park, at Santa Teresa, has an exhibition hall, auditorium and cafeteria for music shows, happy hours and reading of literary texts. From Ruins, Park the visitor will get breathtaking views of the city of Rio de Janeiro.
